How to get your life on track (Part One)

life changes Dec 09, 2024

Hello sweet pea,

A few weeks ago, I wrote that THE feeling most adults are after in their life is peace.

That’s all we really want… just some freaking peace already.

As I was thinking about it, I realized that the number one thing I do with my clients is partner with them to help them move towards peace.

That peace can look like making more money so they’re feeling safe and secure.

That peace can be setting better boundaries so that they are in alignment with how and where they spend their time.

That peace can be creating a business that lights them up and feels easier more often than not.

That peace can be leaving a relationship where they don’t feel valued or seen or heard.

But it’s all about getting to a place where they feel at peace with their life.

But here’s the rub:

How do you figure out what will make you feel at peace?

Well.

I have THE question to ask yourself that can help you determine what to do in ANY situation.

The question is:

>> What would be in integrity for me in this situation?

Integrity is IT.

I believe that the healthier you get, the more you want to be in integrity in your life.

You want to do work that feels good to your whole self.

You want to be in a relationship (or multiple relationships) that feel in alignment for you.

You want to have friends who help you grow and thrive and realize big truths about yourself.

You want to laugh.

When I talk about integrity, I’m not talking about moral uprightness (although I think being in integrity can be linked back to living in alignment with your values and morals).

I’m talking about the next definition of integrity according to Oxford languages on Google:

“Integrity: The state of being whole and undivided.”

When you are living, working, and loving from a place of WHOLENESS, there is a deep peace that washes over you.

I believe that personal growth is an ever-evolving process of paying attention to what feels right, whole, in integrity for you at each phase of your life and then making gradual shifts to move closer and closer to that alignment.

It is surprising how much living out of alignment can drain the life force from you.

Do something for me, it’s a mini thought experiment.

Use your intuition to call up an area of your life that is out of integrity.

Here are some possibilities: Work. Home. Love. Sex. Health. Spirituality. Friends. Creativity.

Now, just for a moment, imagine that no one would judge you or criticize you for your decisions.

You have free reign to change and live whatever way you want to.

Did you let that last bit sink in?

You can live whatever way you want.

What would feel in integrity for you?

Here’s an example:

Your last child just went off to college.

You and your partner live in a big house now that’s beginning to feel too big.

In fact, it feels a bit empty, echoey and like more work that it’s worth.

Living there with the two of you feels out of integrity.

If you lived whatever way you wanted without anyone judging you…

You could rent out the house and go traveling in an RV for a year (or more).

You could sell the house and downsize to a condo in a new city.

You could consider fostering a child or a few children.

You could sell everything and move onto a boat.

You could open your house to a couple who are dear friends and see what it's like to live in community with other adults.

You could sell or rent the house and move abroad.

You could Airbnb some rooms in your house and meet people from around the world.

There are SO many options and opportunities to live a full and fulfilling life.

Maybe you pick one of those options and then in a few years, you grow and change and it’s time to shift to be in integrity in a new way.

How exciting!

I have so much more to say about this topic because it’s hugely important to stay awake and keep evaluating what feels good for you at each phase of your life.

Keep an eye out for part two next week.

I’ll see you then, love.
