Ask yourself this question to get back on your path

Have you ever felt blah?

Not bad.

Not great.

Not depressed really.

Just sort of numb and moderately uninterested in life?

Lukewarm.

Tepid, even.

That’s how I’d best describe this feeling.

Often when I’m feeling this way, it’s because I’ve gotten off track somewhere.

In those moments, I find that asking myself THIS question will help me re-align.

I put my hand on my heart, close my eyes and say quietly,

“What does my soul need right now?”

You can ask to see a flash of an image, to hear words, to get a sense of something, or to feel information drop in like a download.

Now—the answer you get might not translate into something you can do at that moment.

When you’re at work in your cubicle and the voice says,

“Well. I’d like to throw my desktop monitor through the office window.”

“Immediately.”

That maaaaay be more of message and not, you know an [makes finger quote motions] actual activity to pursue.

Also—

(I spent many years wanting to shatter corporate windows with heavy office equipment. #ugh #beenthere #Ifeelyourpain)

The message to that desire may be translated to something like… oh I don’t know… this:

WOMAN.

YOU NEED TO QUIT THIS EFFING JOB!

NOW.

I MEAN IT.

It’s horrible!

This has gone on too long and we (your heart and soul) can’t take it any longer!

(I’ve also received this strict talking to from my soul. Like I said, #beenthere)

Let me give you another example:

I just asked myself the question of what does my soul need right now?

The answer: I want to go surfing.

Here’s how I translate that since:

1. It’s a workday and I’m clearly, you know, working.

2. The closest, surf-able, WARM beach is a state-away.

3. I do not, in fact, own a surfboard.

4. Most importantly, I do not know how to surf.

(Psh… details… right?)

Eh hem.

But here are the things I associate with surfing…

  • Learning to surf is a dream I’ve had on my OMG—DO THIS! list for a while—so there’s some longing there

  • Surfing feels super beachy (I love the beach) and summery (it’s rainy right now) and carefree (I’ve been hyper-scheduled lately)—so there’s some longing there too

  • Surfing would make me immersed, quite literally, in nature in the form of a body of a energetically cleansing water

  • Surfing forces you to quiet down, be in the moment, go with the flow

  • There’s only one person per surfboard (for me at least)

You see how that translates?

I need some alone time, some free-wheeling time, some nature time, some chill time, some time that feels like summer to me…

Correction: My SOUL needs all those things.

So what is it for you?

Take a moment right now.

Put your hand on your heart, close your eyes, and ask yourself:

What does my soul need right now?

It’s okay if emotions come up—there are messages inside each of those feelings.

Don’t worry if you get a message like mine that doesn’t have an immediate literal translation.

Take note of the information you get and then start to examine what it might mean for you.

(Surfing might translate to something totally different for someone else.)

Be aware: You may get a very clear answer and you may find yourself saying, but I CAN’T do what my soul wants because of timing, kids, money, etc, etc. etc.

I believe that’s what we call a feeling and not a fact.

You CAN do the thing your soul needs, but you may need to get creative or delegate some tasks or play hooky from work (really, it’s fine, the world will keep spinning) or ask your partner to take over with the kids for the evening (they will be OK, promise).

The message may be QUIT YOUR JOB, GINA!

And no, you most likely can’t do that today (or could you? *grin*), but you can get the ball rolling.

If you’re getting an URGENT message, it most likely means that you’ve been waffling, dithering, dilly-dallying on your decision for too long.

Just start moving in the direction of your soul’s desire; you’re begin to feel your soul start to breathe again.

If you’ve been waffling, dithering, or dilly-dallying on working with me, let me encourage you to take the first step and talk to me about options.

I’ve got a limited number of one-one-one coaching spots available (that’s not a marketing ploy, that’s a reality) and if you’re been moving in a loop for a while, coaching with me (with the help of your guides) may be exactly what you need.

If you feel excited (or nervous <<< that’s a good sign) to move forward with coaching, let’s chat on the phone or on zoom.

And then let’s get to changing your life for the better.

Until next week lovely…
